4. Sorting and Combining. I print out the ideas I've come up with. Putting them on paper helps me to really see them. I cut each one into its own piece of paper, and lay them out on a table for viewing, in a random order so I can disassociate the similar designs from each other. Again there is an element of chance that is not found on the computer and allows for more brainstorming. Now I narrow down my choices by taking away, one at a time, whichever designs are my least favorites. I want to pare it down to 5 designs for further development. I show them to another designer and get his input as well.
