5. Further Development. I've narrowed down my choices to 5 designs, and I begin to try subtle variations of them. I'm also paying more attention to the type and integrating it with the design. My clients want something modern-looking, not an "old timey" look, so I'm leaning toward sans serifs. I'm also experimenting with some built-in features in Illustrator, such as the distortion filters and different pen types. In this process, I come up with another 2 or 3 ideas that weren't in the last step, and I start to feel like Mickey Mouse in the Sorcerer's Apprentice—each idea leads to another one.
